What others say:
‘It is clear El has a desire to encourage and enhance wider skills in bushcraft as well as enabling pupils to engage and challenge themselves in tasks. She is an attribute to Embers as she is able to provide a fantastic curriculum that is designed specifically to our pupils, but also has high expectations of behaviour. Our pupils are always engaged and challenged and have gained so many different life skills and are inspired to try new things. It is a massive confidence boost and something our pupils look forward to each week.’

El worked with our school last term. She showed exceptional skill, dedication, and creativity in her one-to-one work with a child with extremely challenging behaviour and special educational needs. Through her calm and nurturing approach, she established firm yet compassionate boundaries, creating a safe and structured environment in which this child could thrive.
El's carefully designed and tailored high-quality outdoor learning opportunities evolved to match the child’s interests and needs. This not only engaged the child fully but also provided a rich, meaningful context for developing social skills, self-regulation, and confidence. All learning was carefully thought through and shared with staff beforehand. A beautiful booklet of photos and feedback was also created to share with the child, parents and school once the program was complete.
The child loved the sessions, looked forward to them, and showed improvements in social interaction, emotional regulation, and enjoyment of learning. El’s ability to combine nurture with structure, creativity with consistency, has made a difference to the child’s school experience.
El is an outstanding practitioner whose work reflects best practice in supporting children with SEND and behavioural challenges. Her contribution has been invaluable.
